9 – 5 pm Friday As with couples, we can use the attachment lens to understand individual client presenting issues. Individuals get caught into negative cycles internally and interpersonally, creating emotional distress and reinforcing insecure attachment. Stage one addresses awareness and de-escalation of these cycles.Stage two utilizes the power of emotions to reprocess attachment themes and mobilize new stances which in turn help create new, positive cycles.
Video clips and demonstrations will highlight how to keep individual work systemically-based and focused around attachment themes as well as how to work with the related emotions. These two days will include didactic presentations rich with clinical illustrations, video demonstrations and small group exercises. A unique feature of this training will be the opportunity for four case presentations of individual clients by participants, allowing case formulations and small group role plays. Yolanda has been using EFT since it was established, being in the original research study in 1983. Her skills as a Certified EFT Therapist are widely sought. Yolanda has been a consultant and trainer to other psychotherapists since 1991 and frequently travels internationally to teach.
